USING GARBAGE AS STAMPS TO MAKE COOL ART

One persons garbage is definitely my art making tools! You never know what fun new ways repurposed items can bring to your work.

This fun activity is a great way to relax and express yourself without any pressure. You can use the final pieces for collage, cards, bookmarks, or whatever else inspires you.

And since you cut out the best parts after, there is less pressure because of course there will be a gem or two in there, and you will still find a purpose for the rest of the pieces.

The most important part is to have fun and not think while you are doing it. The busier your piece gets, the more interesting it can become! And if it gets a tad too busy, just add some white paint to tone it down.

For this you need a large piece of canvas or watercolour paper. I used @triart.mfg eco blend hemp canvas pad which I highly recommend.

Next you….

Start with a few large brushstrokes to add interest.

Then get busy stamping! A blow dryer is a great tool to make layers dry faster.

Do some touchups – I added some white paint in some spots. Then I went in and added details with my paint markers. More on another post on how to refill them 😉

When you are ready to cut it up, find the most interesting sections first. The rest can be used for smaller items like bookmarks.

Never throw anything away! You can use the rest for collage. More on that another time 😉
